Used by sound makers
Reverie is in the hands of working composers, producers and sound designers. Here is what some of them, and the press, have to say.
Featured in
“a new and fascinating tool”
“…particularly useful for true crime shows, game developers, or anyone else that wants copyright-free ambient tracks”
“a useful and time‑saving helper”
“The effect modules all sound good and offer a satisfying selection of parameters.”
“a really cool new app”
“…some really interesting and useful results - all offline and local to your machine, no AI involved”

The OED definition of Reverie is "a state of being pleasantly lost in one's thoughts; a daydream. It is a dreamy, meditative state of mind where a person is temporarily unaware of their immediate surroundings". And that is precisely what happened when I encountered and used Reverie the first time. It has become an essential tool in expanding my sonic adventures.

I've done Trailer Music Sound Design in the past and other than Ambient tracks, which Reverie is more than qualified for, I've been creating loops of my complete songs where I import them into Reverie to create parts and use within my Rock Hybrid Remixes. It's a fantastic way to work and I really don't have any other tools that sound like this. So glad I found it!

Reverie serves both as both a creative and reflective instrument. You learn more about the sounds you have made, and yourself.

Reverie has been invaluable for making drones and other beds for my DnB tracks: it doesn't have to be used on its own!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reverie 1.13 is a fully native rewrite on both macOS and Windows. The DSP runs as native code, up to 5× faster than v1.0 depending on the style. New: Pro Chain Builder (compose your own chain from 37 DSP modules), 5 new factory presets (Deteriorating Memories, Harmonic Healing, Forest Breathing, DNA Splice, Ancient Chant), 4 export formats (WAV, FLAC, OGG, AIFF) at 16 or 24-bit, and full undo/redo.
No. Your Pro license migrates automatically. Install 1.13, open it once, and your Pro features unlock. Zero action, zero upgrade fee.
A new mode in 1.13 where you build your own effect chain from 37 DSP modules. Drag, drop, reorder, bypass, tweak every parameter, and save your chains as custom presets.
Input: WAV, MP3, FLAC, OGG, M4A, AIFF. Output (Pro): WAV, FLAC, OGG, AIFF at 16 or 24-bit. Free tier exports WAV only.
Any audio source works in Reverie: songs, vocal takes, field recordings, instrument loops, even short samples. Sparse and harmonic sources (pads, vocals, solo instruments) tend to produce the cleanest ambient textures, while dense mixes with heavy drums get smeared into atmospheric beds.
Reverie Pro renders ambient soundscapes up to 30 minutes per track, ideal for meditation apps, game audio beds, film scoring or long-form streaming. The free tier is capped at 3 minutes per render, which is enough to evaluate the sound quality on your own source material before upgrading.
No, Reverie is a one-time purchase. 19€ unlocks the full Pro experience for life: 30-minute renders, all 20 factory presets, the Custom Chain Builder, and every minor and patch update within the 1.x series. No recurring fee, ever.
Reverie runs natively on macOS 13 and later (Apple Silicon M1, M2, M3, M4 and Intel), on Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), and on Linux (x86_64). One license unlocks all three desktop platforms. There is also a native iPad app, free to download on the App Store, licensed separately from the desktop version. On older systems, the legacy Reverie 1.0 still runs on macOS 11 and later: see /legacy.
Reverie is a standalone app, not a plugin. But it integrates smoothly with any DAW via drag & drop and 4 export formats at 16/24-bit. Drop the output onto your timeline and you're done.
Reverie ships Dreamtime, our extended evolution of Paul Nasca's Paulstretch (2006), alongside 36 other DSP modules, 20 curated presets and a Pro Chain Builder. PaulXStretch remains an excellent open-source tool for pure stretch and runs as a DAW plugin. Full breakdown at /compare/paulxstretch-vs-reverie, and what the algorithm actually does at /blog/paulstretch-explained.
Yes! The Pro version includes seed-based reproducibility for byte-identical results.
Reverie transforms your audio. The rights over the output depend on the rights you have over the original file. Make sure you're allowed to use your source material.
Yes, Reverie is fully offline. After license validation, the DSP runs natively on your Mac or Windows machine, with no server calls and no cloud upload of your audio. Your files and creative work never leave your computer.
Yes, your license works on all your personal computers (macOS, Windows and Linux). The iPad app is licensed separately, through the App Store.
Yes, two ways. In Dreamscape mode, Reverie combines the right modules automatically based on your chosen style. In Pro Chain Builder mode, you pick any of the 37 DSP modules yourself and build your own chain.
Reverie is signed with a valid Authenticode code-signing certificate, the same standard every major audio plugin uses on Windows. But Windows SmartScreen has a second layer called Application Reputation, which builds up over thousands of installs before it stops showing the warning. Parallel Minds is a brand-new studio, so we are at the very beginning of that reputation curve. To run Reverie the first time, click "More info" then "Run anyway". The warning only shows up once per binary and disappears completely once the reputation threshold is reached. We chose to keep our standard certificate and be transparent about this stage rather than mask it. The macOS build is notarized by Apple and shows no warning.
Contact us at info@parallel-minds.studio and we'll resend it.
