Example: tension drone for a film trailer
The director wants a 90-second tension drone that builds from silence to an ominous wall of sound, under a trailer cut. Starting from a 5-second string take.
- 1Import the string recording into Reverie.
- 2Pro Chain Builder: Dreamtime (stretch 50×) → Spectral Blur → Frequency Shifter (shift down 30 Hz) → Shimmer Reverb (long decay) → Compressor.
- 3Set brightness to -40 for dark menace.
- 4Duration: 90 seconds. Generate. Save the seed.
- 5Director asks for "darker, same timing". Load seed, shift brightness to -60, regenerate. 90 seconds later, you have the variant.
- 6Export as 24-bit WAV at source sample rate. Drop into the trailer edit.

Can I use Reverie for commercial film/post work?
Yes. The output is yours (subject to rights on your source audio). No attribution required. No Content ID match from us.
Does Reverie preserve sample rate and bit depth?
Sample rate is preserved end-to-end. Bit depth is configurable at export (16 or 24-bit for WAV and AIFF, fixed for FLAC and OGG).
Can I import my own impulse responses or samples?
Any WAV, MP3, FLAC, AIFF, OGG, or M4A file is valid source material. For impulse responses specifically, Reverie uses its own internal convolution via the Shimmer Reverb module.
Is spectral cross-synthesis a real module or just a name?
Real module. You can blend the spectral content of two regions of your source and control the morph curve, smoothness, and window size. One of 37 DSP modules available in Pro mode.
